Organization Description
350Deschutes is an organization dedicated to promoting a JUST transition to clean energy. We focus on advancing solar, wind, energy storage,
clean fuels, and other forms of clean energy to reduce polluting emissions harmful to health, clean air, and water. An important part of this work is to
minimize or stop new gas infrastructure that is harmful to health and safety. Through policy advocacy, actions, and education, 350Deschutes raises
awareness and improves access to clean energy and transportation options. We also support clean energy jobs workforce development for youth.
We have a ten year history of providing these services and a solid reputation among stakeholders within Oregon.

Role Description
This is a full time Executive Director role at 350Deschutes. The lion’s share of this job involves raising the funds necessary to support the
organization. ($170,000 to $200,000 yearly) Current funding sources are varied and include grants, individuals, conference sponsors, events, and
contracts. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, working with stakeholders to develop strategic plans that
include programs and education, managing staff (currently 1 staff person), budgets, and representing the organization with stakeholders. This is a
hybrid role based in Bend, OR, with the flexibility for most of the work from home.
Qualifications
Connections in the community with the ability to create and foster connections that support the organization’s work.
Demonstrated ability to research, identify, and cultivate the individuals, businesses and foundations with the ability to provide financial
support.
Experience in environmental advocacy, policy development, and/or nonprofit management
Leadership and strategic planning skills
Excellent written communication and public speaking abilities
Financial acumen and/or budget management experience
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders from business, building, government and funding.
Knowledge of clean energy technologies and sustainability initiatives or the willingness to learn.
Experience with grant writing and/or fundraising with individuals and sponsors.
B.A. Degree, sales and management experience, or equivalent is desired.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Campaign and Education Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will support our Electrify Bend campaign, the Oregon Environmental Rights Amendment campaign, and other vital advocacy efforts across Central Oregon. This position is fast-paced and offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to expand their knowledge and skills in grassroots advocacy and environmental activism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign Strategy & Execution:
- Collaborate with leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate strategies aimed at driving legislative and policy changes in favor of clean energy initiatives.
- Monitor local and statewide policy developments to inform strategic decision-making.
- Community Outreach & Engagement:
- Organize and execute grassroots outreach initiatives, including tabling, volunteer recruitment, and community events.
- Develop and deliver educational materials to raise awareness about environmental justice and the benefits of a renewable energy future.
- Communications & Content Creation:
- Draft press releases, newsletters, and social media content to effectively communicate our mission, campaign progress, and policy positions.
- Manage digital communication channels to engage diverse audiences and expand campaign visibility.
- Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with community organizations, local government officials, and media representatives.
- Serve as a key liaison between 350 Deschutes and community stakeholders to build broad-based support for our initiatives.
- Data Management & Reporting:
- Track and analyze campaign metrics and community engagement data.
- Prepare regular reports to inform campaign strategy and document progress.
- Fundraising: a small part of the job will be to identify possible funding sources among individuals, and businesses.
Qualifications:
- A passion for environmental justice, renewable energy, and progressive policy change.
- Demonstrated experience in grassroots organizing, campaign coordination, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building relationships and fostering collaboration.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and social media platforms.
- Experience in policy advocacy, research, and data analysis is a plus.
